Iran launched state-run Spanish-language TV channel dubbed Hispan on Tuesday. The television network would broadcast 24 hour news, entertainment, educational and documentary programs.
The TV channel was launched in the by the presence of the Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast and other Iranian officials as well as Cuban, Venezuelan, Bolivian and Nicaraguan ambassadors.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also addressed the inauguration ceremony of the Spanish-language channel though video link.
"Hispan TV" which can also be watched on mobile phones and the Internet had earlier gone on air with a limited broadcast in December.
