The 20th Iranian Navy flotilla rescued a trade Singaporean vessel attacked by pirates in the Red Sea. The Singaporean ship called for help while leaving the straits of Bab-el-Mandeb and when it was attacked by 12 boats belonging to pirates.

The Iranian flotilla moved towards the Singaporean ship swiftly and prevented
the pirates from action after an armed conflict.
The pirates fled the area after the conflict.
Iranian Navy has sent 20 flotillas to high seas, escorting 1500 oil tankers and vessels and preventing 130 piracy through armed conflicts.
Iranian Navy has managed to thwart 25 armed attacks by pirates since March 2012 and arrest the pirates in two cases after tactical operations of "Raad 1, 2" (Thunder 1,2).
