Programming proposals now being accepted; deadline for submissions is September 15th
Los Angeles, CA - July 18, 2012 - Farhang Foundation is calling on our talented community of artists and performers to submit proposals for Performing Arts pieces that visualize some aspect of Nowruz (Iranian New Year). Submissions will be considered for production and performance as part of the programming during the part of the programming during our 5th Annual Nowruz Celebration, taking place on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art(LACMA).
Since 2008, Farhang Foundation has marked the tradition of Nowruz with a grand day of festivities at LACMA. The highlight of our celebration is a live performance by talented artists and performers from our community, before a packed house. Some of the past performances have included:
For the second year in a row, we are opening up submissions to the community-at-large for Performing Arts pieces (theater, dance, or music) that explore the origins, history, and/or themes of Nowruz, presented to a diverse audience, mostly those who are not familiar with this ancient celebration, relaying the inspirational and joyous message of this ancient tradition.

About Farhang Foundation - Farhang Foundation is a non-religious, non-political and not-for-profit foundation established in 2008 to celebrate and promote Iranian art and culture for the benefit of the community at large.
