Alamiyan angry with himself over elimination from Olympics

Noshad Alamiyan

LONDON - Iranian table tennis player Noshad Alamiyan was unsatisfied with the way he played against his German rival Timo Boll in the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Alamiyan lost to Timo Boll 4-0 on Monday in the men's singles third round table tennis match at the ExCel venue.

"Timo Boll is an experienced player, who has been at the top level for more than 15 years. Nonetheless, I am not satisfied with the way I played against him. I could have played better but I don't know what happened to me. I know I was so nervous during the match," the 21-year-old Iranian said.

"I will join a European team next year. We can talk more when I learn what I want," he concluded.

Alamiyan defeated Australian Justin Han (4-0) on Saturday. He also beat Peng Tang from Hong Kong yesterday.
