Senator Sam Blakeslee invites you to join him in recognizing the many contributions of Iranian-Americans to the state’s and the nation’s diverse cultural fabric. This year, the California State Senate passed SR 29, a Senate Resolution authored by Senator Blakeslee that acknowledges the importance of the Iranian-American diaspora in California and recognizes the month of June 2012 as “30 Days of Solidarity with the Human Rights Movement in the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
Senator Blakeslee Presents Resolution Honoring Iranian Americans 5.31.2012
As a celebration of the humanity and creativity of the Iranian culture, Senator Blakeslee will unveil the HeART of Iran art display. The exhibit will display a variety of pieces by Iranian and Iranian - American artists to share the richness and diversity of the Persian culture with all Californians.
Following the unveiling of the art exhibit, Senator Blakeslee will celebrate the passage of SR 29 and present resolutions to the National Iranian American Council and the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran for their efforts in raising awareness about the critical nature of the human rights movement in Iran.HeART of Iran Art Display Unveiling
