Iranian star Bahram Radan won the best actor award at the Ladakh International Film Festival, which was held in India from June 15 to 17. Radan, who is referred to in the West as the Iranian Brad Pitt, received the award for his portrayal of a forensic psychiatrist in Reza Karimi's thriller "The Killer".

The film tells the story of a young forensic psychiatrist who visits an old friend whose fiancee Roya has been accused of murder. Though he learns about Roya's psychological disorders, the more he finds out, the more strongly he insists on her innocence.

"Alexandra David-Neel", French director Joel Fargges' biopic about the French philosopher Alexandra David-Neel (1868-1969), was crowned the best film at the festival.
Dominique Blanc received the best actress award for her role in "Alexandra David-Neel".
Bouli Lanners from Belgium won the best director award for "The Giants" ("Les Geants").
