The visiting foreign ministers of Turkey and Iran have held talks with their Azerbaijani counterpart on a broad range of issues that include disputed Nagorno-Karabakh and measures that could boost mutual ties.

During their meeting, Azerbaijan's Elmar Mammadyarov, Turkey's Ahmet Davutoglu, and Iran's Ali Akbar Salehi reportedly stressed the need to settle the Azerbaijani-Armenian conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh on the basis of sovereignty principles.

The parties also discussed possible railway projects to connect the three countries, as well as ways to simplify visa procedures.

The three ministers held a similar meeting in Iran last year.

This time they gathered in Azerbaijan's restive exclave, Naxcivan province, to which Iran provides a land link from Azerbaijan.

Salehi was expected to depart Azerbaijan for Tajikistan for a three-day official visit to discuss Iranian investment in that Central Asian country.
