Photographer Amir Khosroshahi has captured snapshots of Iranian workers to mark May 1st, the International Workers' Day (also known as May Day). On this day, commonly organized street demonstrations and marches are held by working people and their labour unions throughout most of the world. May 1 is a national holiday in more than 80 countries. It is also celebrated unofficially in many other countries.

According to Iranian Labour News Agency (ILNA), Iranian authorities refused to issue permit to workers who planned to hold a demonstrations on Labor Day. Tehran's workers instead gathered in front of central branch of House of Workers on Monday and then went to "Shahid Motamedi" gym where they marked May Day in an enclosed space. There they called for the implementation of their right as the world celebrate International Workers' Day.
