Trade in Iran has been governed by the same laws and regulations for almost 80 years.
A detailed look at the new bill, and the long process it's been through.
For the past decade the government and parliament have been working on a new set of laws, but because of the scale of this project, the process has dragged on.
But finally on the 11th April 2012, the Iranian parliament approved a new trade bill, and sent it to the Guardian Council for review.
The new trade laws are all encompassing, covering everything from the establishment of new companies to tax, the bourse and transport. Modern day methods like electronic trading have all been included in the new package of laws too.
