Iran's export of grape to more than 70 countries hit $313 million in 2011. Iran exported fresh and dried grape to 70 countries in 2011. The UAE, Turkey, Ukraine and Russia were the main importers of Iranian grapes and the US's share hit over $382,000.
The production of grape in Iran started in 200 BC. Grape tree is called "TAK " or " MOU " in Iran and its scientific name is "Vitis Vinifera" which has strong and long roots with a lot of branches and naturally does not possess vertical stems.
There are more than 25 different kinds of grape in Iran which are used in three forms including fresh, dry and juice.
