Iran beat China in a breathtaking final at the 2012 Asian Youth Boys' Championship on Thursday.
The Persians beat China in five-set (21-25, 25-21, 23-25,28-26,15-8) in the final match at Tehran's Azadi Volleyball Hall in presence of about 3,000 Iranian fans.
The finalists advanced to next year's FIVB Youth Boys' World Championship in Mexico along with Japan and Korea.
It is the first time Asia has had four berths at the FIVB Youth Boys' World Championship. The last edition took place in Argentina in 2011 with Serbia, Spain and Cuba placing the top three, Asianvolleyball wrote.
"We have worked very hard and the Asian teams had come here for achieving the World Cup tickets and champion title of Asian youth boys. I am proud of my players since China team was a great team in the final match but we deservedly defeated them," Iran coach Iraj Mozaffari said in the post-match news conference.
In the bronze medal match, Japan beat Korea 3-2(22-25,25-20,26-28,25-20,15-10).
