Iranian cinematographer, Darius Khondji has been nominated in the 25th European Film Awards for his work on Michael Haneke's "Amour."

Haneke's "Amour" led the pack with six nominations, including best film, director and actors.

Khondji is a prominent Iranian-French cinematographer whose unique style caught the eyes of critics with the Jean Pierre Genet film "Delicatessen" in 1991 and later in the highly acclaimed American thriller "Seven".

Khondji has worked with many prominent directors including Polanski, Bertolucci and, more recently, with Woody Allen on "Midnight in Paris" and "To Rome with Love."

Khondji was born in Tehran in 1955 to an Iranian father and a French mother and later pursued his studies in UCLA and New York University.

The European Film Award winners will be announced in December at a ceremony in Malta.
