Seven Iranian Red Crescent members who had been kidnapped in Libya were freed on Saturday and came back home after nearly two months.
The Red Crescent delegation was abducted on July 31while in Benghazi for humanitarian activities at Libyan Red Crescent invitation. The kidnappers were said to be members of the "17 February Revolutionary Brigade" and wanted Iran's intermediation to release Libyan prisoners in Iraq.
Following continuous negotiations with Libyan officials and local officials of Benghazi the seven Iranians were freed after 65 days and they were all in good health conditions, Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi announced.
