An infertility specialist says American and European patients come to Iran to seek treatment for infertility as the cost of treatment is low in Iran.

Dr. Abotaleb Saremi, in an interview with the Mehr News Agency, said that the cost of infertility based on in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment is much cheaper in Iran than in the U.S. and Europe, therefore patients from these countries tend to choose Iran for treatment.

Saremi, who is a member of the American infertility Association, said the cost of infertility treatment in America is about 15,000 dollars.

However, he said the cost of treatment for Iranians is high and therefore fewer Iranians are referring to infertility centers for treatment, Saremi explained.
