Gholam Reza Jalali made the remarks during a press conference held ahead of Iran's Passive Defense Week, which will be held for the first time this year, beginning on October 27.

During the interview, Jalali announced the nationwide programs that have been organized for the week.

"We will hold cyber drills in five or six major sectors of the country, which will be conducted to enhance the country's cyber capabilities and prevent cyber attacks. Many countries, including (members of) NATO and the European Union, have conducted drills in this field, and these are the first cyber drills that will be held in our country," Jalali explained.

Drills to prepare for biological warfare attacks are also scheduled to be held in Tehran and Alborz provinces, the director of Iran's Passive Defense Organization stated.

Jalali added that a number of other drills, including a drill to practice the response to the leakage of radioactive materials, will be held during Passive Defense Week.
