Iranian Bush Crash Kills 19 in Kazeroun, Iran

Nineteen people have been killed in southern Iran after the bus they were traveling in struck a rock and flipped over. The state news agency IRNA reported the accident took place some 50 kilometers west of the city of Shiraz in the early hours of the morning.

An additional 25 passengers were injured, five of them seriously.

Local traffic police blamed the bus driver for "excessive speed and negligence."

Iran has one of the world's road-safety records, with statistic indicating some 20,000 people die in traffic accidents each year.
