LOS ANGELES, CA, September 25, 2012 - Now in its fifth year, the 2013 Farhang Foundation Short Film Festival has officially been announced.
Calling on individuals from all backgrounds and walks of life to submit short films visualizing some aspect of Iranian art, culture, and heritage, Farhang Foundation's annual online short film festival offers contestants the opportunity to compete for $10,000 (first prize), $5,000 (second prize), and $3,000 (third prize).
"Each year's submissions, which come to us from all over the world, including the U.S., Iran, many parts of Europe and the Far East, remind us of the universal language of the cinematic arts and surpass our expectations through the creative ways in which Iranian culture has been captured," said Mark Amin, Farhang's Film Festival Committee Chair and member of the board of trustees. "We eagerly anticipate this year's submissions and look forward to sharing them with viewers worldwide!"
The submissions period opens on November 1, 2012 and ends on February 1, 2013.
The award ceremony, during which the winning submissions will be screened before a live audience, will take place on March 16, 2013 at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), which will include a red-carpet arrival, extensive media coverage of the event and the participating contestants, followed by a reception.
