The Geneva-based organization in its new report which entitled “World Trade Report 2012”, has announced leading exporters and importers countries in 2011.
According to the report, European Union, China and United States rank respectively as the largest exporters of the globe in 2011.
Iran by exporting of more than 131 billion dollars of goods has placed in the 23rd rank of the list.
Iran’s exports have increased more than 30 percent in 2011, compared to 2010, despite the unjust economic bans imposed by the U.S. and its allies against the Islamic Republic, the report states.
The country’s exports in 2010 stood at 101 billion dollars, the report further said.
The Islamic Republic’s share of world’s total exports has also improved, increasing from 0.8 percent in 2010 to 0.9 percent in 2011, the WTO said.
The country’s exports value has more than doubled in risen the last six years, from 56.2 billion dollars in 2005 to 131 billion dollars in 2011, the WTO statistics showed.
