The governor of Iran's Bushehr Province has said the country's nuclear reactor was undamaged by a powerful earthquake which killed three people elsewhere in the southeast of the country.

Fereydoon Hasanvand told state television that "no damage at all has been caused" at the plant by the 6.1 magnitude quake.
The Iran Seismological Center said the quake struck 89 kilometers southeast of the Gulf port city and at a depth of 12 kilometers, with its epicenter in the Kaki area.
The U.S. Geological Survey ranked the quake slightly stronger with a 6.3 magnitude.

In January, the Bushehr nuclear power station was linked to the national energy grid at full capacity after having been taken offline for two months.
