Iran inaugurated the 18th international oil, gas and petrochemistry expo on Wednesday in presence of high ranking officials including first vice-president Mohammad Reza Rahimi and Oil Minister Rostam Qasemi.
The four-day exhibition will start its activities on Thursday with over 1000 Iranian and foreign companies have joined the event.
The exhibition also presents equipment and parts required for oil industry.
Oil Minister Rostam Qasemi
Qasemi, speaking in the inauguration ceremony of the oil expo, said the country made 30 billion dollar investment in the country's oil industry in 2012, adding the amount is expected to be increased in the near future.
Qasemi further noted that 70 petrochemistry units in Iran are under construction and in case these projects are accomplished, Iran's petrochemical products would be raised to 130 million tons annually and Iran will be ranked first in the region.
