Iran overpowers Mexico at FIVB U21 World Championships

The Iranian national junior team has registered its fourth consecutive victory at the FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship in Turkey and advanced into the second round (Round of 16) on top of the pool ranking.

On Monday, Iranians ended their Pool B campaign with a straight sets victory over the Mexican outfit and overpowered their opponents 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-17) at Baskent Volleyball Hall in Ankara.

Iranian volleyball players exhibited spectacular performance and dominated on the court during the match. They closed the first two sets at 25-20 and 25-21.

They did not stop at that and continued to exert a spell of pressure on their rivals. Eventually, Iranians won the third set 25-17.

Roberto Rincon scored 15 points for Mexico to top the scorers' chart of the match, while Milad Ebadipour produced 13 points for Iran.

Iran will face Egypt in its first Round of 16 match on Wednesday.

Turkey finished its matches in pool A with 4-0 full record. India claimed the second position and China the third. Egypt stayed fourth, while Morocco finished fifth.

Iran concluded Pool B with the full mark 4-0, while Argentina came second. The Japanese team finished fourth followed by Mexico. Estonia ended in the fifth position.

Serbia led the table in Pool C also with a win-loss ratio of 4-0. The USA sits to the second position, while the third position went to Canada and the fourth to Tunisia. Rwanda kept the fifth position.

Russia stood at the top of Pool D, while Brazil reserved the second position. France claimed the third spot, Italy finished fourth and Venezuela finished fifth.

The FIVB Men's U21 World Championship opened in Turkey on August 22, and will wind down on September 1.
