Meet Farhang: Shab-e Yalda Celebration

Join Farhang Foundation on December 20th at The Moss Theater at New Roads School in Celebration of Shab-e Yalda, featuringGordafarid, Kamran Thunder, Mohammad Hassani and Arash Shapouri, poetry recital by Haleh Mahboubi Gabbay

LOS ANGELES, November 27, 2013 - Farhang Foundation is delighted to announce that it will be hosting Meet Farhang: Shab-e Yalda on Friday, December 20, 2013 from 7 pm to 10pm at The Moss Theater at New Roads School.

This special event will mark the occasion of Shab-e Yalda, the winter solstice, which has been celebrated by Iranians for thousands of years. The evening will feature performances by Gordafarid, first female naqqal (storyteller) of Ferdowsi's "Book of Kings" and musical performances by the talented and accomplished musicians: Kamran Thunder,Mohammad Hasani and Arash Shapouri. This program will include poetry recital byHaleh Mahboubi Gabbay.

Meet Farhang: Shab-e Yalda will take place at The Moss Theater at New Roads School 3131 Olympic Blvd., Santa Monica, CA 90404. Traditional Shab-e Yalda refreshments will be served. Tickets are available at $65/person and may be purchased online.

Dedicated to honoring and sharing Persian poetry, literature and music, Meet Farhang events are among Farhang Foundation's most popular programs, bringing the community together in celebration of Iranian art, culture, and heritage.
