The deviant current is associated with Esfandiar Rahim-Mashaii, a close ally of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has recently been appointed by the president as head of the temporary secretariat of the Non-Aligned Movement in Tehran.

On the dispute between Ahmadinejad and Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani which occurred during an open session of the parliament on Sunday, the Judiciary chief said that it was a bitter experience, adding, "At present, I remain silent due to the interests of the system."

Ahmadinejad engaged in a dispute with Ali Larijani during the impeachment session of the cooperatives, labor, and social welfare minister on Sunday.

In his speech to defend Abdolreza Sheikholeslami, the president leveled certain allegations against Larijani's brother Fazel, who is the president of the Science and Research Branch of the Islamic Azad University in the northern city of Amol.

The Majlis speaker strongly criticized Ahmadinejad for raising an issue irrelevant to the impeachment.
