Iranian Americans Gather to Give Back Locally
Third Annual National Iranian American Day of Service
Saturday, March 9, 2013
Join Iranian Americans nationwide in honoring the Iranian New Year (Norooz) tradition of beginning a good year through acts of kindness. During NIAC's Third Annual Day of Service on Saturday, March 9, we look forward to reigning in a wonderful new year by cleaning parks and beaches, serving food to those less fortunate than ourselves, and caring for the ill and elderly.
Norooz marks the first day of spring and is celebrated by Iranians inside Iran and in diaspora communities around the world. It is a time to celebrate family, friends and the rebirth of nature. We hope you will join us in sharing this joyous tradition by giving back to your local community.
Below is the list of cities (in alphabetical order by state) and venues where Iranian-Americans will come together to give back to their communities:
If you live in or near one of cities and would like to be included, please let us know by clicking on your city above and signing up to volunteer. If you would like to coordinate your own team in another city, we welcome your leadership and desire to help! Please contact us via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or telephone (202-386-6325) as soon as possible so we can begin planning your city's activity.
With the New Year comes a new opportunity to help our communities and show our unity. Don't wait ... sign up to make your community a stronger one!
