Join the IAAB Movement
Ten years ago IAAB started a movement. A casual conversation between two college students grew into an organization that has impacted thousands of Iranians across the world. Iranians in diaspora have come together to build a community that moves away from cliches, pushes boundaries, learns from its predecessors and prepares for its future.
Since 2006 IAAB has connected more than 1000 young Iranian American leaders. IAAB's programs have offered Iranian American youth a network of older siblings, confidants, role models and mentors.
Based on the success of nearly seven years of mentoring relationships, IAAB is pleased to finally launch its Mentorship Program to the public.
Now, members of the community can help support the personal and professional development of young professionals, college, high school and middle school students through IAAB's Mentorship Program.
IAAB's Mentorship Program is a structured program designed to offer Iranian American students and young professionals the opportunity to develop relationships with Iranian American leaders within a variety of industries. IAAB Mentors serve as resources and/or advocates through establishing an ongoing and meaningful mentoring relationship.
Mentors offer both professional and personal development support throughout the tenure of their mentoring relationship.
Mentors particularly support mentees during transitions: from middle school to high school, from high school to college, from college to their first profession and throughout their careers. As established members of the Iranian-American community, mentors can also support mentees undergoing the monumental life transition of emigrating from Iran to the United States.
IAAB considers inter-generational mentorship and collaboration as an especially meaningful context for community development. IAAB's philosophy is informed by an open, democratic, and participatory model of leadership, one that is grounded in diversity and a deep sense of collaboration. IAAB programs promote the notion of a community of learners in which empowerment is never top-down, but occurs in an environment where all participants take on the roles of teachers and learners.
