Abdorrasoul Ebrahimabadi provided comments on Iran's high capacity for Damask Rose production and said that 6,000 tons of flowers are annually produced in Iran.

To extract the essence of the flowers, he added, 100 distilling machines should work. Head of Natural Essences Research Institute at Kashan University pointed to the export of the Iranian essence and said "this year a sample of the essence was sent to France."

Asserting that France had approved the quality of the sample, he added that although the export volume of Iranian essence was low, with this sample approved, the conditions for export have become favorable.

According to Ebrahimabadi, Damask Rose essence is the basic ingredient for the perfumery industry and without it no perfume is produced.

About Rose Oil (source: Wikipedia):
Rose oil, meaning either rose otto (attar of rose, attar of roses) or rose absolute, is the essential oil extracted from the petals of various types of rose. Rose ottos are extracted through steam distillation, while rose absolutes are obtained through solvent extraction or supercritical carbon dioxide extraction, with the absolute being used more commonly inperfumery. Even with their high price and the advent of organic synthesis, rose oils are still perhaps the most widely used essential oil in perfumery.
