Photos: The Mannequins Of Tabriz

A mannequin is an often articulated doll used by artists, tailors, dressmakers, windowdressers and others especially to display or fit clothing. Iranian clothing stores usually advertise their items to customers using plastic mannequins. Here are some black-and-whites photos by the Iranian photographer AliHamed Haghdust from the mannequins in the city of Tabriz.


Mannequins are often seen behind the store windows in all large cities of Iran. They live a life of splendid light showing. Sometimes they wear expensive clothes, and at other times cheapest attire. They change color for different tastes; and gradually, they become worn-out and discarded.
