An earthquake, measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale, shook Boldaji region in Borujen township in the western province of Charmahal-Bakhtiari on Saturday. The seismological base of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the tremor at 06:55 hours local time (0325 GMT).

The quake was epicentered in an area located at 31.93 degrees latitude and 51.07 degrees longitude.

The Borujen Governor, Fatah Karami, said on Saturday that the earthquake, has claimed no life. According to Karami, walls of a number of rural houses are cracked. He said the medical teams and a number of military forces have been dispatched to the quake-hit region.
