Source: Mehr News Agency, Tehran

Python is a unique, 100 per cent Iranian 4 door family sedan, which will revolutionize the design of Iranian vehicles.

Iman Maghsoodi, contributing member of the weekly "Auto World" and chief designer of Python, said in the unveiling ceremony of concept model that "the car is designed according to global standards and for export to foreign markets. This is the first time in the country an auto magazine arranges a competition to tap into creative talents and domestic facilities."

He said that 100 per cent of the design, from the initial idea to the production of the prototype, was done domestically and by private sector and some of the contributing members of the weekly also played an active role.

He also said that the project team members are among award-winning teams in international auto design competitions or graduates of mechanics and design, Maghsoodi added that the vehicle is a class C sedan and convenience for families has been much important in the design. "1600 and 1800 cc engines can be installed on it," he added.

In the sidelines of the unveiling ceremony, Ahmad Aali Far, Dentus CEO and project sponsor asserted that Class C is the average automobile class, enjoying the highest sales globally. "Python belongs to this class," he added.

He also said that Python is a unique, 100 per cent Iranian 4 door family sedan, which would revolutionize the design of Iranian vehicles.

Aali Far pointed out that "manufacturing a similar model of this vehicle abroad and by foreign automobile manufacturing companies would have cost more than $150,000 while this is done domestically with only Rls.1b (about $35,000)."
