US denies freedom to Iranian university lecturer

Source: Mehr News Agency, Tehran

US officials have denied freedom to an Iranian university lecturer who has been arrested since two years ago by US police.

Seyyed Kazem Sajadi, the director-general of the Foreign Ministry's Iranian Expatriates Affairs Department provided comments on Seyyed Mojtaba Atarodi, Sharif University of Technology lecturer, now in US detention, saying that he has met Swiss charge' d'affaires (in charge of US interests) on the issue of on bail freedom for Mr. Atarodi to attend his daughter's wedding ceremony.

"Unfortunately, US officials did not consider humanitarian case for Iranian innocent citizen again," he added.

Mojtaba Atarodi has been in house arrest in US under the baseless pretext of breaching sanctions law. He has a heart condition, and has twice suffered attacks.
