Hossein Alizadeh and Pejman Hadadi Live in Concert in New York

Maestro Hossein Alizadeh, the Iranian Tar and Setar virtuoso, and Pejman Hadadi, one of the most innovative Iranian percussionists, will be in New York for a unique musical event. In addition to the live concert on August 3, there will be master classes/workshops for Tar and Setar (and possibly Tombak and Daf) on August 2 and August 4.

The events (concert and workshop) are hosted by the Pace University, Graduate Center, located in downtown White Plains, a 30-minute drive or train ride from Manhattan.

The sapce for both the concert and the workshop is quite limited so early purchase/registeration is highly recommended.

Classes will be available to a limited number of students at the beginner and intermediate/ advanced levels.

Master Classes/Workshops on Tar & Setar with maestro Hossein Alizadeh

We are honored to announce the master classes and workshops presented by Ostad Hossein Alizadeh in the months of July and August of 2013 in several locations across the U.S. Following the successful series of workshops and classes which started in different cities in Iran (http:// www.maktab-alizadeh.com/), these master classes and workshops are now taking place in the U.S. for the first time.

The master classes will focus on main technical concepts of playing Tar & Setar for both beginner and intermediate/advanced levels. A composed repertoire of Hossein Alizadeh will be practiced. It will also open the discussion of improvisation, by taking the basic steps of choosing, or creating a simple musical motif and expanding it into different varieties.

Each class will be about two and half hours.

The workshop schedule for both Friday Aug 2 and Sunday Aug 4:

Intermediate/advance Tar workshop 10:00-12:30

12:30-1:30 Lunch break

Intermediate/advance Setar workshop1:30-4:00
Beginner Tar workshop 4:00-6:30
Beginner Setar workshop 6:30-9:00

Tuition:

$120 for a 1 day workshop
$200 for 2 days of workshop

Please note that the workshops are limited to 12 students in each class. Early registration and payment submission is highly recommended.
