Chairman of Foreign Policy Committee of Iranian Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Vahid Ahmadi lashed out at the UAE officials for revoking citizenship of hundreds of Iranian, saying the commission plans to probe into expulsion of Iranian expatriates from the UAE.
"Now, the UAE's measure is under investigation from the relevant sources and naturally the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission will deal with the issue," he told ISNA.
Over recent months, the UAE has expelled over 500 Iranians some of whom had 25 years citizenship. The latest tallies in 2008 showed that 200,000 Iranians were residing in the country and 8000 Iranian companies were working in the country with the capital of $300 b.
Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar in his meeting with the UAE Prime Minister Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum raised concerns over deporting Iranians, saying such measures will strain relationship between the two countries.
