Photos: Sika Village in Mazandaran Province, Iran

Photos by Mostafa Shanchi, ISNA

Iran is a vast country (1,648,195 square kilometers or 636,372 square miles) with many different landscapes (Mountains, Deserts, Forests, Lakes, and Seas -- Caspian Sea in the north, and Persian Gulf in the south), ethnicities (Persians, Azeris, Gilakis, Mazandaranis, Kurds, Arabs, Baluchis, Lurs, Turkmens, ...) and religions (Muslims, Jews, Christians, Armenians, Assyrians).

These photos show the beautiful village of Sika nestled among the lush mountains and forests of Hezar Jarib region of Neka in Mazandaran province, northern Iran. People of the village live a simple life, compared to others living in towns and cities. But they seem to enjoy a vast, green and peaceful nature unmatched by what the urban life has to offer them!
