The annual fundraiser raises money for the restoration and collection of art for their Iranian and Central Asian Art galleries, which house one of the most expansive collections of Iranian art in the world.
The Asia Society of New York will also be celebrating with a Persian New Year Family Day on March 17, featuring Persian Drumming with Amir Vahab, J-Hoon Music Ensemble and a screening of A First A First Norooz.
As it has for many years, the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco will host their family Nowruz Celebration on March 16, including Persian storytelling, and a presentation of Rumi x 7 by Golden Thread Productions.
On March 16 and 17, Farhang Foundation will host their annual Nowruz Celebration at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). There will be live performances by Rana Mansour and Erwin Kachikian and plenty of activities for children. It is a free event and all are encouraged to attend.
In Washington DC Norooz is being celebrated on March 16 at The Smithsonian Freer - Sackler, The Smithsonian’s Asian Art Museum, with their fifth annual Persian New Year Celebration that includes “fire” jumping, games, storytelling, performances by the Nomad Dancers, and live Persian music.
