Photos: Nowruz Travelers Flock to Bushehr

Photos by Abbas Heydari, Islamic Republic News Agency

Bushehr is the capital city of Bushehr Province, Iran. Bushehr lies in a vast plain running along the coastal region on the Persian Gulf coast of southwestern Iran. It is the chief seaport of the country and is the administrative centre of the province. Its location is about 1,218 kilometres (757 mi) south of Tehran. The local climate is hot and humid.

During Iranian new year holidays (starting around March 20th and lasting 13 days), people flock to the coastal areas of Bushehr to enjoy the warm waters and the scenery. This is the busiest travel time in Iran, and any visitors live in tents during their vacations, which has become a common thing in many Iranian cities in recent year.
