Two hundred and three hopefuls have not been approved as candidates for the fourth city council elections, which will be held simultaneously with the 11th presidential election on June 14.

A number of famous figures, including former chief executive officer of the Tehran Urban and Suburban Railway Company Mohsen Hashemi, former vice president Masoumeh Ebtakar, former MP Fatemeh Rakeii, and Tehran City Councilor Ali Reza Dabir, are among the disqualified individuals.
The concerned supervisory committees have 10 days to review the letters of protest submitted by the disqualified candidates.
