"I want to congratulate Brazil on their very good match. I show Brazil to my team many times to show them how to play good volleyball, so to go up against them was not easy in the beginning," Iran coach Julio Velasco said in the post-match news conference.
"Brazil played very good tactics and defense against our attack. They caused our players to attack balls that they don't want to attack. And I think our players suffered a lot because of this, not just technically but mentally also. I think in this match our players learned a lot for the future," he added.
The championships has brought six teams Japan (host), Iran (2013 Asian Champion), the U.S. (2013 NORCECA Champion), Brazil ( 2013 South American Champion), Russia (2013 European Champion) and Italy (Wild Card) together.
