Iranian deputy foreign ministers attending nuclear negotiations with six world powers have met and held talks with the top US negotiator in the Swiss city of Geneva.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for International and Legal Affairs Abbas Araqchi and Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American Affairs Majid Takht-e Ravanchi met with Under Secretary for Political Affairs Wendy Sherman on the sidelines of a new round of talks on Tehran's nuclear energy program between Iran and the six countries of the US, France, Britain, Russia, China and Germany.
The meeting was co-chaired jointly by Araqchi and Sherman.
The Iranian negotiating team is headed by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif while EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton is leading the teams from the six nations.
Ahead of the start of the talks on Wednesday, Zarif and Ashton held a bilateral meeting, which was later described by Zarif as "good."
Iran and the six countries are working to resolve the Western standoff over the Iranian nuclear energy program.
The previous round of the talks was held in Geneva on November 7-10.
