Iranian football referee Mohsen Ghahremani suspended over corruption accusations

Iranian referee Mohsen Ghahreman has been suspended from all football activities until further notice. Ghahremani has been banned by anti-corruption committee of Iran Football Federation on Monday.

Ghahremani made wrong decisions during Sepahan-Persepolis match in Isfahan last month, where the visiting team lost 2-0.

The referee showed Meysam Hosseini a straight red card for a controversial foul on Sepahan defender Shoja Khalilzadeh just two minutes into the match.

He also awarded Sepahan a penalty and Hadi Aghili found the back of the net.

TV replays showed Ghahremani made mistakes.

According to a revealing report by Shagh daily, Iranian football icon Ali Daei may also be accused of involvement in game fixing during his tenure as Rahahan coach. Daei is currrently the coach for Persepolis.
