Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi says the United States must seize the historic opportunity created by Iran's foreign diplomacy.
Iranian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Major General Hassan Firouzabadi
"The Islamic Republic's positive and constructive diplomacy has created a major historic opportunity and the US administration [must] not lose this constructive opportunity which will not last forever...," he said on Wednesday.
"... the golden opportunity of Iran's diplomacy can resolve many problems, avoid more crises and open a way towards the peace and victory of all nations," the general added.
Firouzabadi said opponents of the US administration inside Washington do not want to see President Barack Obama benefit from this bargaining chip.
He said the only option for President Obama would be to understand Iran's new diplomacy.
Firouzabadi's remarks coincide with the new round of talks between Iran and six world powers over the Islamic Republic's nuclear energy program in Geneva.
Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council - the United States, China, Russia, France and Britain - plus Germany held two rounds of talks on Tuesday.
During the first round, Zarif presented Iran's proposal titled "Closing an Unnecessary Crisis, and Opening New Horizons."
