Iran was held to a 1-1 draw against Canada in Group E of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Tuesday. In the match held at the Al-Rashid Stadium, Amirhossein Karimi gave the Iranian outfit a lead just nine minutes into the match.

Jordan Hamilton equalized the match in the 48th minute.
The Iranian team dominated possession in the second half and put Canada under pressure but their strikers failed to score once again.
Canada goalkeeper Marco Carducci made some excellent saves.
Iran had the more dangerous chances to break the deadlock and hit the bar twice. First through Mohammad Bazaj in the 71st minute and then three minutes later from Majid Hosseini's vicious shot from distance.
In the end, the Canadians was fortunate to escape with what is their fourth draw on the trot at a FIFA U-17 World Cup and their second point here in UAE, FIFA wrote.
Iran has also two points after the team drew 1-1 with Argentina in the opening match.
Iran will face Austria in Al Ain on October 25, while the North American meet Argentina.
