Source: Radio Zamaneh

Three separate land mines were detonated in Marivon, injuring three people. The Kordpress website reports that Faeq Ahmadzadeh of Sardoosh ran into a land mine while herding his livestock.

52-year-old Jamal Karimi fell victim to a land mine explosion near a military garrison, and Omar Dehghani was injured by a land mine while he was farming.

All three wounded are reportedly injured in their left leg and have had to undergo surgery.

Statistical reports indicate that six million hectares of land in Iran are infested with more than 20 million land mines.

The land mines regularly claim victims among people going about their daily lives; the most affected provinces are Western Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, Ilam, Kermanshah and Khuzestan.
