Zarif made the remarks in Dubai on Tuesday during a meeting with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the prime minister and vice president of the United Arab Emirates, and constitutional monarch of Dubai.

The Iranian official also pointed to nuclear negotiations between Tehran and the major powers and said that the talks will not threaten the interests of any country, adding that a final agreement on Iran's nuclear program would benefit regional countries.

Sheikh Mohammed, for his part, said that Iran and the UAE currently have good relations, adding that his government will try to boost bilateral ties.

The expansion of relations with the Islamic Republic, which enjoys high status in the region, is one of the UAE's priorities, he said.

Zarif also met with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi on the same day.

The two foreign ministers also attended the second meeting of the Iran-UAE High Joint Economic Committee, in which Zarif said that Iran will remain a reliable partner for the Persian Gulf Arab states.
