Iran has reduced its stockpile of higher enriched uranium and has not restarted construction of the controversial Arak reactor, the United Nations nuclear watchdog said in a new report on February 20.
The report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) indicates that Iran was meeting its commitments under the November 24 interim agreement reached with world powers to curb its sensitive nuclear work in exchange for some sanctions relief.
The report was issued to member states just hours after Iran and the six major powers -- the United States, France, Germany, Britain, China, and Russia -- wound up a first round of negotiations in Vienna aimed at finding a lasting deal to the crisis over Iran's nuclear program.
Another round of nuclear talks is scheduled for March 17.
