ISNA reports that the Iran Meteorological Organization has warned the precipitation is to continue well into next week with temperatures in 24 provinces falling below freezing.

Fourteen provinces are reportedly dealing with heavy new snowfalls and storms, and temperatures in Tehran Province will also hit a low of -4C.

The reports of many provinces facing severe cold weather come only a day after the National Iranian Gas Company reported gas shortages and called for energy-saving practices in every household.
