Iranian President Rouhani receives Turkish Prime Minister

President Hassan Rouhani and visiting Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan who arrived here Tuesday night, met on Wednesday. The two discussed issues of mutual interest in the meeting which was held at the Sa'adabad Cultural and Historical Complex in northern Tehran.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Minister of Development Cevdet Yilmaz, Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekci and Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yıldız also are accompanying Premier Erdogan.

The Turkish prime minister is to hold separate meetings with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Foreign Minister Zarif and First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri.

The Turkish prime minister is in Tehran at an officials invitation of Jahangiri and is to leave the Iranian capital this afternoon.

Iran, Turkey share similar approach towards terrorism: Erdogan

Visiting Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Wednesday that Tehran and Ankara share identical approach towards fighting terrorism. Erdogan made the remarks while speaking in a meeting with First Vice-President of Iran Eshaq Jahangiri.

Appreciating Jahangiri for his invitation, Erdogan said the two capitals should remove the existing obstacles to promotion of bilateral cooperation in order to get to a targeted annual 30-billion-dollar trade volume.

Erdogan added that Tehran and Ankara could also have effective counter-terrorism cooperation.

Meanwhile, Jahangiri said Tehran and Ankara shared a firm determination to boost bilateral relations.

He expressed hope that the two countries could reach their targeted annual trade volume of 30 billion dollars by 2015.
