Works by Bibi Haazer Omidvari, an 88-year-old self-taught Iranian doll maker, is on display in an exhibition at the Iranian Artists Forum (IAF) in Tehran. Bibi Haazer, who lives in the southern Iranian city of Shiraz, creates her works based on characters from Iranian folk tales.

A total of 210 dolls will be displayed at the show, which will be her first solo exhibition.

She is scheduled to narrate some folk tales that have inspired her dolls during the exhibit, which will run until July 4.

A workshop has also been arranged on the sidelines of the exhibit.

Bibi Haazer's works received a lot of attention at an exhibition of works by a group of self-taught artists at the IAF this year in April.

She was previously a carpet weaver, but on her doctor's advice, she gave up the weaving job to improve her health.

Afterward, she shifted gears from weaving to doll making to slake her thirst for art.
