Photos: A Low Budget "World Cup"

Photos by Akbar Tavakkoli, Islamic Republic News Agency

These days we are all caught in the excitement of the World Cup and all the magnificence surrounding the games.  However, there are also many "little cups" happening all over the world that don't get much attention. There are no billion dollar budgets; no fancy stadiums or green grasses; no nice balls, jerseys and shoes. These games are rather played on rough dirt fields, most often with no shoes and with flat balls. Yet the players and their spectators seem to be happy just the same.

Here are some photos from one of these "little cups" in Iran's Sistan o Baluchestan province taken by photographer Akbar Tavakkoli.
