The protesters are chanting slogans, including 'Down with Israel', 'God Is Great' and 'Silence of Any Muslim Is Betrayal to Quran' in solidarity with the Palestinian people, voicing their anger at the policies of the Israeli regime for the unprecedented offense on the Gaza Strip over last 19 days resulting in over 800 dead and over 4700 injured.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday called on all Muslim states across the world to hold World Quds Day rally to show hatred towards Israeli warmongering and hawkish policies.

"If unity and solidarity was ruling the Islamic world, an occupier regime did not dare to commit these crimes in a small land for 17 days," Rouhani said.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Judiciary Chief Sadeq Amoli Larijani, Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan, Army Ground Forces Commander Ahmad Reza Pourdastan, Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Minister of Economy Ali Tayyebnia, Minister of Sports and Youth Mohammad Goudarzi, Former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Tehran Governor Hossein Hashemi are some of political figures taking part in the demonstration.

Rouhani participating in the protest rally, reiterated that there is no way to stand against Israel except unity and resistance.

"We can defeat the aggressor if Muslims turn to be one single hand."

The history would judge those who keep mum about Israeli crimes, he said, adding because innocent people and children are being killed and they are silent.

"Today the unity of the entire Islamic World is needed and the whole Islamic World should announce this day (Quds Day) as the day of wrath, hatred, unity and resistance against Israel.'

In August 1979, the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Grand Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, declared the last Friday of the fasting month of Ramadan the International Quds Day.

During the rallies marking the Quds Day, demonstrators call for the liberation of Palestine and an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands.
