The fourteenth commemoration ceremony for the passing of Iranian poet Ahmad Shamloo was interrupted by Islamic Republic security forces. HRANA reports that the ceremony was organized by Iran's Writers' Association and was held on Thursday July 25.

Eyewitness reports indicate that the participants were first photographed and filmed by security officers, who then forced the organizers to end the ceremony.

Ahmad Shamloo, an iconic figure in Iranian literature and modern poetry, passed away on July 25, 2000 at the age of 75.
